If you have fitted a car stereo recently into your ride and it wont hold memory, this problem itself can cause inconvenience. This is because everytime you turn off the ignition your Pioneer or Sony car stereo wont save any preset settings. So hours worth of fine tuning to the sound quality will be gone because the radio does not hold any memory and keeps resetting when starting up the engine deleting any saved settings. This car audio problem usually occurs because its not getting a constant 12 volts from the battery all of the time. Most of the time the power and memory wires are reversed and required at some point to be switched over. If that doesn't fix the problem then it is possible that this can be caused because of a blown fuse on the headunit.
1) Turn off the ignition.
2) Remove the car stereo that has no memory from the din slot.
3) Look at the wiring harness plug. Find the red accessory wire and yellow power wire, connect them together by twisting them. Slide heatshrink tubing down both wires or you can use electrical tape.
4) Once you have paired up the two colored wires, connect them both to one constant power wire coming from the car. I can't exactly say what color it would be since every vehicle brand is different.
5) Now that the connections have been altered, move the heatshrink tubing up the wires covering the copper braids and apply heat to tighten it up. If you are using PVC electrical tape then wrap up the connections as an alternative solution to stop any shorts and blowing fuses later on.
